Time flies when you're running 2.2.0-pre6

Has anyone else had this happen?  I noticed that the system's concept of
time seemed to be passing several times faster than my wall clock said it
was.  This hasn't happened every time I've booted; I noticed it for sure
once, and it explains some out of sequence syslog entries I noticed earlier.

System is an XL 300, pretty ordinary configuration.
