fbcon stuff...

I have been using 2.2.0-pre[56] for a few days now.

One of only two problems I have is that if I compile the fb-con into the
kernel, the system boots up, and hangs after the first line of the kernel
messages.  I also had vga (old-style text) console set too.  Do I need a
boot command line entry to set the fbcon to use this feature?

I upgraded the bin-utils and several other packages as suggested by the
CHANGES file, but only bin-utils would seem to have any influence, but I
don't remember which version, but it met or exceeded the minimum
requirement.
